Happy Birthday Tribute

So today marks what would have been the 53rd birthday of the King of Pop.  So I decided to post this little tribute that I did in an older sketchbook.

August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009
This was originally done back in 2009 as a tribute after he had passed.  Even though it's not finished, I felt that posting it was appropriate, being that it is his birthday.

It kinda makes me wonder...."How would someone like him actually celebrate his birthday?"  A huge party at Neverland, perhaps??
Just a thought.  Enjoy!

New Scanner!! .......kind of.

So due to the lack of a scanner, I was finally able to get a hold of one through a VERY special person.  She just basically let me borrow her old scanner, and I just downloaded the necessary drivers.

Anywho, this is the first thing I scanned. It's out of my sketchbook from way back in April.

So long story short--during that time, I went down to LA for a weekend and stayed at a hotel in downtown.  The place creeped out a lot of my friends because it basically reminded us of the movie, The Shining.  During my stay there, I managed to tear off a piece of wallpaper and pay a small tribute to good ol' Jack with the classic, iconic scene we're all so familiar with.  Enjoy!!

Fast Hands!

So, about a year or so ago, I started following the sport of boxing (other than just Manny Pacquiao).  Just this past weekend I watched a boxing match on HBO featuring two Junior Welterweights, Amir "King" Khan sqauring off against Zab "Super" Judah.  It seemed like a very interesting fight going into it, but it ended up being a bit of a disappointment because, just like many recent fights, this was very one-sided. Although I must say, both fighters had power and amazing hand speed!  It makes me look forward to the Mayweather-Ortiz fight in Sept. And also the Pacquiao-Marquez fight in Nov.

So I tried showing a bit of quickness in my hands--I mean, hand--as well!  These are some speed paintings of both fighters.  Each of them were completed in about an hour, without the use of the eyedropper tool.  Enjoy, my friend!

My Apologies...

...for neglecting the blog for such a long time.  I've just been in kind of a funk, which I'm hoping to get out of.

In due time...baby steps.
