Every first Friday of the month, there is an art walk that takes place in downtown San Jose. Today, was a bit different in that it was the opening night of the 7th annual SubZERO Festival. It was an evening of art, music, and culture, as a street stretching 3-blocks, was filled with vendor booths, food trucks and live music.
There was one booth, in particular, promoting an upcoming Chalk Art Festival and encouraged people to grab some pastels and go nuts, right on the street! Being in that type of environment, completely surrounded in art and creativity, I couldn't resist the urge to get down on the ground and participate.
out of all the open space, I chose a tight spot in between an alien creature, and spiderman head. photo by: Sheila Angeles |
my small chalk art contribution (I tried working around the spiderman head) |
it's no fun unless you wear it! |
